Settling In

All our worldly goods are now at Whangamata. On 28th July we drove down to the property and met Chris and Darlene there. I had ordered timber to be delivered and it was waiting when we arrived. The weekend was spent erecting the frame and lining of a storage room in the back of the shed. Chris and Lorna helped heaps, and there were only a couple of sheets of Gib. to be put up when we left on Sunday night. We went to the RSA to watch the Rugby on Saturday night but the club closed at 9.30 so we listened to the game in the bus – years since we have done that. On Tuesday 1 August we went to the Donny Osmond show which we both really enjoyed. Wednesday saw us looking after Sail One while Keith and Kathie had some business overseas. Sundays 6th and 13th we drove to Whangamata with loads of furniture – thanks to our children for their assistance in loading and unloading the van and trailer. Sunday 6th August was a very wet day and I managed to get in to the section with the loaded vehicles but climbing back up the slight slope to the road in pouring rain proved too much fore the front wheel drive Ducato van. A kind gentleman from the RSA came out with his car and towed us on to the road.
