Concert,Dinner and travel

The building is proceeding at pace now. The main frame is up and the roof and cladding will be going on in the next few days. The rest of life has been hectic.
Last Thursday we went down to Tauranga to see (and hear) the Highway of Legends concert. The performers were mostly legends of the New Zealand country music scene; John Grennell, Eddie Low, Gray Bartlett, Brendan Duggan and others. The evening was great, but I felt there were too many artists and we did not get enough of any of them.
On Friday went to town with Grace and Gavan to do some shopping. We wound up buying a gas hob, Oven, dishwasher and range hood. We then drove back to Whangamata for the night and to change the clothes in our suitcases.
Saturday morning we drove up to Auckland to go to dinner with Erin for her birthday.
I wanted to go to a Plumbing merchant to get pipe and fittings for the house. When we arrived the premises were closed with a sign saying “closed for stocktaking”. Damn!
We went across to Bunnings and sorted out some flooring and baths etc.
The dinner was at a Malaysian restaurant in K Road where we had a marvellous meal for a very reasonable price.
Sunday we spent some quality grandparent time with Zoe before driving back to Whangamata. Before driving back we went in to Vodafone to see about upgrading our internet connection. Vodafone changed our plan and supplied a Vodem stick for $49. We had been prepared to bargain hard and to have it all offered to us was a pleasant surprise.
Lorna will be going back up to Auckland to work. She will be taking this computer with her, so I may not be able to write a blog this week
